The Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum is located on the campus of Washington University in St. Louis and is part of the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts. It was started in 1881 by the school which began to collect art of significant artists of the time. It now as an impressive collection of art from the 19th century through the 21st. The collection includes sculptures, photographs, paintings and prints from European artists, as well as American.
The museum is free and open to the public. Viewing hours are Monday, Wednesday-Sunday 11am-5pm, closed on Tuesdays and major holidays. See website for more information.
