"The Loop", also known as the "Delmar Loop" or the "U-City Loop", is located in St. Louis Missouri in the suburb of University City. The nickname "The Loop" came from the fact that a streetcar turnaround or "loop" was once located in the area. The Loop is an eclectic mix of restaurants, specialty shops, concert halls, entertainment venues and nightclubs. A major portion of the area is designated as a Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places and also has been recognized as one of the 10 Great Streets in America. The Loop is also home to the St. Louis Walk of Fame, located on Delmar Blvd, that commemorates famous persons that have a connection with St. Louis.
