Fitz's Root Beer makes the most delicious root beer float! In fact Fitz's Root Beer is made with an original recipe that was developed in St. Louis in 1947. Fitz's Root Beer, Orange Soda and Cream Soda can be purchased in most grocery stores in the St. Louis area, but going to Fitz's Bottling Works and watching it be bottled on the 1940's vintage bottling line makes that float taste even better! Fitz's American Grill & Bottling Works is located in The Loop Historic District in University City in what was once the West End Bank building, a historic St. Louis County Landmark.
The restaurant is open seven days a week, but the bottling line is not always in operation. A second location is located in South County on Lindbergh Blvd. Both locations are open 11am-8pm. Check Fitz's website for the bottling schedule.
